OTTO & THE DIX is a garage rock group I started with Brain Kelly (So Cow) and Niall "Ooh Gee Boogie" Murphy from Oh Boland. The idea really was to just get together for an afternoon and bash out some fun songs. They were never rehearsed, we just went in and recorded them in a four hour slot.

Brain recorded them on his laptop, everyone playing at once, and then later added a few little finishing touches.

I wish I could remember the name of the rehearsal studio where they were recorded. It's gone now. It was out in Ballybane I think. We played there on the night it closed.

The Gloom is the name of a character in a novel I've been working on for quite a few years. Hopefully someday it will be published and the song will make sense.
